2.0 out of 5 stars a lesson in frustration!, 20 Oct 2010

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme ( What's this?)
My wife is an avid fan of any hair removal technique that involves a)minimal pain and b)permanency. She has had professional laser treatment for hair removal in the past and she thought this machine would offer a cheaper alternative that she could use at home.

Well, the machine itself is compact but reasonably sturdy. The instructional DVD was useful but a bit lacking. The idea is that the laser will only work if two pins in the probe are depressed at the same time to a particular depth. If they are not, the laser is not properly positioned and it will not fire. My wife's main problem with the machine was that it was extremely difficult to get the two pins to depress at the same time to the desired level. She managed it a few times over the hour or so she tried using it (first attempt) and a few more times the next time (second attempt) and has not used it since due to frustration!

She is unable to report on the laser's depilatory effect as she has not managed to... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money!, 18 Aug 2010
This review is from: Rio Scanning Up to 20 Hairs Laser Hair Removal System (Personal Care)
I will be frank regarding this product to which I have bought and tried. If you are thinking of buying this item because you think it will be cost effective long term, think again.
1.It is not worth the money or anything close.
2.It is not like the salon (been there too and now have been back once with fantastic results).
3.There is no visible hair loss
4.It takes forever, so if you want to use this on your legs this product IS NOT for you.
5.If you factor in your time to the cost it makes the whole process astronomical.
I wish I did not buy it and am trying to sell it on, but my conscious is stopping me from allowing some other poor person to get sucked in.
Please save your money - visit a proper laser clinic and get it done permanently.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Programme ( What's this?)
Before I was married, my husband told me he didn't mind if I got fat (which I did and I mind!) but he couldn't cope if I got a moustache. Well guess what appeared very recently? Eek! I'm, therefore, over the moon to get this gadget!
So with delight, I've been trying this out. It takes 6 months of treatment once a month for the hair to be removed completely. Therefore, I will update this review every month to let readers aware of the progress.

First of all the machine is very attractive to look at and neat and compact. It looks a bit like a phone. It is also very very easy to use although you do need to spend a wee bit of time reading the instructions. You also need to read the information guide which explains about hairgrowth and is necessary in understanding when you use the appliance. The drawback is that it only treats a very tiny area at a time and it is quite hard to pinpoint exactly where you are zapping. Therefore, I'm unsure if I covered all the areas... Read more
